FLDEP contracted AquaTech Eco Consultants to remove waterway markers from St. Andrew’s Bay that were determined to be damaged and no longer functional. 95 of these sign poles were originally erected to inform boat operators of the presence of shallow seagrass beds. AquaTech removed 22 of these sign poles that FLDEP had determined were no longer functional or that had been badly damaged. Sign poles were removed using a high-pressure water pump with a pvc fitting to blow the anchoring sediment out. Signs were then disassembled and materials were either cleaned and repurposed or appropriately discarded.
