Robinson’s Preserve Seagrass Transplant

AquaTech Eco Consultants was contracted by Manatee County to transplant 1,133 of shoalgrass trays using a modified shovel method to a 0.65 acre, man-made hydrological wetland. The donor grass was harvested from a monitored donor site on set distances along a transect and then transplanted within the preserve on the same set points of a transect. The intention of this project was to introduce SAV to a manmade ecosystem that had not yet been colonized by any SAV at the time.
