AquaTech Eco Consultants was contracted by the Saint Johns River Water Management District to provide and install Florida Certified Native SAV in Lake Apopka, located in Apopka, FL. AquaTech sources plant material from Aquaticus Plants to fulfill the terms of this contract. Planting units are prepared in two formats: burritos and single-plant weights. To date, AquaTech has installed 132 acres of Florida Certified Native Vallisneria americana and Potamogeton floridanus across multiple restoration sites selected by SJRWMD in Lake Apopka. Since the original contract in 2021, the SJRWMD has renewed with AquaTech for multiple fiscal years based upon the determined success of restoration efforts through monitoring conducted by SJRWMD.
