AquaTech Eco Consultants was contracted by Coastal Engineering Consultants to conduct pre-construction surveys on seagrass beds that are anticipated to be impacted by the future dredging of Blind Pass. The area of impact was determined by CEC. AquaTech biologists conducted an in-depth survey used best practice methods to assess the status of the existing seagrass beds within the area of influence. AquaTech completed two pre-construction surveys, in September of 2022 and September of 2023, to ensure a clear picture on the health of the existing seagrass bed(s) was obtained. A written report was generated by AquaTech to provide both raw and analyzed data to the Army Corps of Engineers so that appropriate mitigation requirements can be put in place.
